Training Professionals

Keys is made up of a selected multi-cultural group of learning/educationa/training professionals and practitioners who individually have a unique record of successful experience in one or more specialized fields of the learning process.

Included in our Team are trainers who are specialized in: Education, Training/Learning, Curriculum, Technology, English Second Language (ESL) and School Administration. Together, we offer a complete, multidisciplinary approach to facilitate learning for people with various needs.


  Brenda Bergen Brenda Bergen

Most recently serving as elementary school principal, Brenda has been involved in administration and teaching K-12 in several districts in Ontario Canada and at the American School in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Her teaching background, at elementary and secondary levels includes special education (gifted to developmental learning), counseling, English as a Second Language and a variety of academic subjects. At the school level, she has been involved in all facets of administration required in the effective functioning of a school. At the system level, Brenda has designed and implemented staff development programs for administrators, teachers and support staff in areas as diverse as educational leadership, curriculum management, school improvement, teacher performance appraisals and assessment and evaluation. She has organized and conducted workshops for teachers for topics such as behavior/discipline, learning styles (Gregoric), academic skills and time management. Brenda has also been a valued member of the team that is delivering the Educational Technology in Schools project for the Partners for a Competitive Egypt and the Egyptian Ministry of Education.
 
  Doaa Darwish Doaa Darwish

Doaa is a trainer/facilitator, lecturer at Ain Shams University and City University. She is an announcer/editor and program presenter for the CARE New Schools project in Beni Suef, Fayoum and el Minya. Doaa is a valued member of the team that provided Student Centered Learning training; Level One and Advanced to Primary Teachers and Primary, Preparatory and Secondary Teacher Supervisors as part of the Alexandria Initiative. Doaa has a PhD in mass communication English Department.
 
  Zakeya El Nahas Zakeya El Nahas

Zakeya holds a master’s degree from University of Wolverhampton UK in Education Management. She received her bachelor’s degree from the American University in Cairo, as well as a diploma in teaching English as a foreign language.

Zakeya began her career as a teacher of English language with the Armenian School, in Kuwait. She later joined Misr Language Schools in Egypt, working as Head of the preparatory English Department. She has also worked as Headmistress of Maadi Narmer School, and Director of the Teachers Research and Development Center. Zakeya has been a valued Keys trainer since 2002., having participated in the student centered learning training in the Alexandria Initiative. She is currently part of the team that is designing and delivering the Educational Technology in Schools project for the PfCE (Partners for a Competitive Egypt) and the Egyptian Ministry of Education.

Recently, Zakeya opened the Keys Early Years Center, whose aim is to provide children with a strong foundation for school success, providing early learning programs compatible with international standards.
 
  Randa Gaber Randa Gaber

Randa holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Cairo University. Educated in the U.S., she has taught English at various levels, and has also served as supervisor of the English Department at the Royal Pyramids School. Randa has been a valued member of the team that is delivering the Educational Technology in Schools project for the Partners for a Competitive Egypt and the Egyptian Ministry of Education.
 
  Naglaa Gad

Naglaa holds a Master’s degree in Teaching Management of Education from Wolverhampton University, a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the American University in Cairo, a Montessori Diploma, a Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, a Diploma in Islamic Studies, and a Diploma in Teaching Kindergarten and Elementary Children.

In addition to her teaching and administrative experience, Naglaa has been active in training teachers, administrators and parents in various bilingual schools, nurseries and associations in Egypt. She has also designed curricula, character development programs, and has authored educational children’s activity books, parental guide books, and teacher guides. In her work as educational consultant, Naglaa has assisted schools in teacher recruitment and training and setting up administrative systems.
 
  Sharon Hiebert Sharon Hiebert

Sharon holds a Bachelor of Arts form Brock University, Ontario and a Masters in Education from Toronto University. She is a fully qualified English as a Second Language/Foreign Language teacher and has developed, taught, and mentored E.S.L. programs in a variety of institutions in Canada and internationally. Since October 2003, Sharon has been part of the team that is delivering the Educational Technology in Schools project for the Partners for a Competitive Egypt and the Egyptian Ministry of Education.
 
  Hala Hosni Hala Hosni

Hala began her career as a biology teacher at El Farouk Language School, where she also served as Head of the science department. Subsequently, she turned her efforts to administration, working as Headmistress of the primary stage and later school principal. Hala has been a valued member of the team that is delivering the Educational Technology in Schools project for the Partners for a Competitive Egypt and the Egyptian Ministry of Education.

Hala holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Ain Shams University, Cairo; a Master of Science degree from the Medical Military Institute in Egypt, and a Bachelor of Arts from El Azhar University, Cairo.
 
  Fatima Hindawi Fatima Hindawi

Fatima is a trainer/facilitator, lecturer at Helwan University and Ain Shams University. Fatma has worked with local, international and UN agencies including: The National Center of Judiciary Studies, the National Planning Institute, American Cultural Center, UNICEF, UNHCR, UNDP, League of Arab Nations and USAID. Fatma is a valued member of the team that provided Student-Centered Learning training; Level One and Advanced to Primary Teachers and Primary, Preparatory and Secondary Teacher Supervisors as part of the Alexandria Initiative. Fatma holds a PhD in Code Switching and Language Borrowing from Helwan University 1986.
 
  Fatima Hindawi Ashraf Ismael

Ashraf holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix, San Jose, California, a Bachelor of Science in Management form Sadat Academy for Management Sciences, Cairo, and a Diploma in the Networking Engineer Program from Heald College School of Technology, San Francisco, California.

Ashraf’s varied experience includes lecturing at the Modern Science and Art University, Cairo, at San Jose State University, California, and at Heald College, California. He has also worked as Education/Technical Operation Manager at Silicon Graphics, California. Ashraf has been a valued member of the team that is delivering the Educational Technology in Schools project for the Partners for a Competitive Egypt and the Egyptian Ministry of Education.
 
  Wafaa Kader Wafaa Kader

Wafaa is a trainer/facilitator, project and conference co-coordinator and consultant. Wafaa has worked as a project co-coordinator for the Institute of International Education in Washington D.C. funded by USAID. Wafaa is a member of the team that provided Student-Centered Learning training; Level One and Advanced to Primary Teachers and Primary; Preparatory and Secondary Teacher Supervisors as part of the Alexandria Initiative. As part of this same project, she was also participated in the design and development of training manuals, materials and participants’ manuals. In addition, Wafaa has been a valued member of the team that is delivering the Educational Technology in Schools project for the Partners for a Competitive Egypt and the Egyptian Ministry of Education. Wafaa has a Master’s Degree in Information Systems from Carleton University, Canada.
 
  Margaret James-Korani Margaret James-Korani

Margaret is British Canadian, with a solid background in international education. Her varied teaching experience includes positions at the Cairo American College in Egypt, Pierrefonds Comprehensive High School in Quebec, Canada, the Baldwin-Cartier School Commission in Montreal, Canada, and McGill University, also in Montreal. She has also taught in Monte Rosa International College, Montreux, Switzerland and College du Leman International School in Geneva, Switzerland. Margaret’s extensive work history has afforded her experience in the International Baccalaureate Program, the I.G.C.S.E. program, the Model United Nations program, the American high school system, and the Quebec Educational Plan.

Margaret holds a bachelor of arts in educational studies from the University of Sussex, Brighton, England, the autorisation d’enseignement from Switzerland, a Quebec Teaching Certificate, and graduate work in the Faculty of Education, McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
 
  Nahed Lotfy Nahed Lotfy

Nahed holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Cairo University and is a qualified Computer teacher. She has been Head of the Computer Department (KG1-12) at MISR Language School, Cairo and most recently at Dar El Tarbiah School, American Division, Cairo. Nahed has been a Trainer for International Education and Resources Network (IEARN) carrying out training, mentoring, training of Trainers, and online communication with other IEARN teams through the internet. Nahed was also a valued member of the team that provided Student Centered Learning, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving training; Level One and Advanced to Primary, Preparatory and Secondary Teachers as part of the Alexandria Initiative.

Since October 2003 Nahed has been part of the group that is delivering the Educational Technology in Schools project for PfCE (Partners for a Competitive Egypt) and the Egyptian Ministry of Education.
 
  Manal Marzouk Manal Marzouk

Manal holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Cairo University. She has taught Math and English, and served as Activities Coordinator. Manal has been a valued member of the team that is delivering the Educational Technology in Schools project for the Partners for a Competitive Egypt and the Egyptian Ministry of Education, which focuses on student centered learning, rubric assessment, lesson planning, SMART objectives, classroom management, authentic assessment, critical thinking and problem solving whilst at the same time introducing, supporting, enhancing and extending the use of IT in the classroom.
 
  Irene Matta Irene Matta

Irene holds a Bachelor of Arts in German from Cairo University, the German diploma (Abitur) and has also done postgraduate studies in the German Language and Literature. She was awarded scholarships in the PAD (Pedagogical Exchange Service), and the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) at Hamburg University and Halle University in Germany. Irene has taught German language and literature at Cairo University, and English at the American University. She has also done translation and interpretation (written, simultaneous and consecutive) of English, Arabic and German. Irene has been a valued member of the team that is delivering the Educational Technology in Schools project for the Partners for a Competitive Egypt and the Egyptian Ministry of Education.
 
  Jennifer McPherson Jennifer McPherson

As a training and education professional, Jennifer brings an extensive background in adult education, life long learning and management development training. Over the past 20 years, Jennifer has applied her theoretical and practical knowledge of adult education principles and curriculum design and development to develop and facilitate programs for trainers, manager, supervisors and professionals in the workplace and classroom. Jennifer is a certified trainer in Personality Style Theory (Personality Dimensions TM) and the application of personality style theory for teambuilding and creating positive classroom and work environments. She is also a consultant in the field of health care, and has assisted in the development of numerous initiatives and training programs for health care professionals. Jennifer holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Central Michigan, U.S.A., and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Western Ontario, Canada.
 
  Serge Morisette Serge Morisette

Serge is a full time Educator with extensive experience as a Teacher, High School Principal and Education Officer and Manager for the Ministry of Education of the Province of Ontario. Serge holds a Bachelor of Arts from College Universitaire de Hearst, a Master of Education from the University of Toronto, Principal’s qualifications from the University of Ottawa and Supervisory Officer’s Certificate from the Ministry of Education of Ontario.

Since October 2003 Serge has been part of the team that is delivering the Educational Technology in Schools project for the Partners for a Competitive Egypt and the Egyptian Ministry of Education, which focuses on student centered learning, rubric assessment, lesson planning, SMART objectives, classroom management, authentic assessment, critical thinking and problem solving whilst at the same time introducing, supporting, enhancing and extending the use of IT in the classroom.
 
  Rosanne Samir Rosanne Samir

Rosanne Samir has a Masters degree in French from Middlebury College, Vermont, USA and did her undergraduate work at North Carolina State University. She has also done post-graduate work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Rosanne has been an educator in Abu Dhabi and Egypt, as a French Teacher, an English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher, a School Principal and now works with Keys to Effective Learning providing training to Teachers and School Administrators throughout Egypt. Rosanne has been part of the team that delivers the Educational Technology in Schools training to private and government school teachers throughout Egypt.
 
  Magda Sourour

Fluent in English, French, Italian and Arabic, Magda has an extensive background in education, training, and project management. Most recently, she has designed and facilitated career development and management workshops, and organized and developed an English language training program. As Director of Marketing and Strategic Development for the Canadian Technology Human Resources Board, Magda managed the educational products portfolio, developed and delivered interactive workshops, including Human Resource Development strategies.

Magda’s educational background includes studies in Business and Marketing Management at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and Computer Sciences at Montreal Sir Georges Williams University in Quebec, Canada.
 
  Mounira Soliman

Mounira holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Cairo University, a Master of Arts in English and Comparative Studies from the American University in Cairo and a PhD in English Literature from Cairo University. As well as her work as an assistant professor of comparative literature at the University of Cairo, she has worked a s a consultant for USAID, AMIDEAST and Fluorite funded projects, in particular for the Integrated English Language Program II, Cairo, designing and implementing workshops and manuals on proposal writing for teachers and how to use videoconferencing as a teacher training medium for the Ministry of Education. Mounira has been a member of the team delivering training to teachers as part of the Educational Technology in Schools project.
 
  Jane Truscott Jane Truscott

Jane Truscott is British and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bath University, an Advanced Diploma in Education (Technology) and a Master of Arts in Education degree. Jane is a qualified U.K. Head Teacher. She has been a full time educator for many years and has extensive teaching experience in Technology, Science and Individual Needs in the U.K. as well as International experience in Cairo, Egypt.

Jane has been a valued member of the Keys Team that has provided Student-centered Learning training Level One and Advanced Level to Primary, Preparatory and Secondary Teachers as part of the Alexandria Initiative. As part of this Project, she also designed, developed and delivered the Training of Trainers for their In-School Training Units. Since 2003 Jane has been part of the team that is designing, developing and delivering the Educational Technology in Schools project for PfCE and the Egypt’s Ministry of Education.
 
  Nermine Wagih Nermine Wagih

Nermine holds a Bachelor of Arts in German from Cairo University, and the German Diploma (Sprachdiplom der Kulturministerkonferenz). Nermine has been a teacher of German to adults and children, served as supervisor in programs for underprivileged girls, and participated in the Project of “Women, Water and Sanitation” in the Social Research Center of the American University in Cairo. Nermine has also been a valued member of the team that is delivering the Educational Technology in Schools project for the Partners for a Competitive Egypt and the Egyptian Ministry of Education.
